Final Value Fee Credit Request
eBay's final value fee credit request process works in
conjunction with the
Non-Paying
Bidder Policy. If you are entitled to a final value fee
credit, simply follow the instructions below. However, please
familiarize yourself with the Non-Paying Bidder ("NPB")
policy and use care before you request credit because your
credit request will be used to identify non-paying bidders, which
may result in the suspension of that user.
Instructions:
- Step 1 - Initial Contact Period. Please
wait at least seven (7) calendar days for the high bidder
to respond to your attempts to contact him or her.
- Step 2 - File a Non-Paying Bidder Alert. Once
seven days have elapsed since the auction closed, if the high
bidder has not responded and/or you feel that the high
bidder isn't going to complete the transaction, you may
file a Non-Paying Bidder Alert with eBay. After you file a Non-Paying Bidder
Alert, eBay will send an email to both you and the
high bidder, advising the high bidder that you have
notified eBay that the bidder is a potential non-paying
bidder and encouraging the high bidder to complete the
transaction. The Non-Paying Bidder Alert serves as a workout
period to assist you and the high bidder in completing
the transaction. You MUST file a Non-Paying Bidder
Alert (1) before you may request a final value fee
credit and (2) within 45 days of
the end of auction.
- Step 3 - Workout Period.
Work with the high bidder for at least
10 days to resolve the issue. Please consider requesting
the high bidder's contact
information and give them a quick, polite phone call.
- Step 4 - Submit online Final Value Fee Credit
Request. If you have filed a Non-Paying Bidder Alert and
have unsuccessfully tried to resolve things with the high
bidder for at least 10 days after the Non-Paying Bidder Alert was
filed, check the table below to see whether you are
entitled to receive a final value fee credit. If you
qualify for a credit, use our online Final
Value Fee Credit Request Form to submit your credit
request. You must submit your Final Value Fee Credit Request within
60 days of the end of auction.
Important Reminders:
- Fee avoidance. Requesting false credit
claims is a form of fee avoidance. Sellers found to be
guilty of this offense will be suspended.
- Time Frame. Under normal circumstances,
eBay will apply credit to your account within 24 hours
after you submit your final value fee credit request (or
in the case of manual requests, 7-10 days following
receipt of your request).
- Which fees are refundable? Final
value fees are refundable under certain circumstances
which are outlined below. Insertion
fees and fees for listing options such as Featured,
Category Featured, Bold or Reserve Price auctions are non-refundable,
even when the item receives no bids or when the reserve
is not met. See eBay Fees and Credits for details.
