What should I do if my credit card doesn't work?

Since several factors may have contributed to your card not working, eBay recommends the following:

  • Contact your card-issuing bank and confirm that the credit card number and/or expiration date on your eBay account are valid. If you need to place a new credit card on file or update the expiration date on your existing card, go to: https://allauto.com.au/auction/aw-secure/cc-update.html
  • If you have a debit or check card (with a Visa or MasterCard logo) on file, please remember that these cards are not credit cards and may be subject to daily and/or transaction limits. Contact the issuing bank to determine if there are daily and/or transaction limits or any other restrictions that may cause your card to decline.
  • Whether you have a credit, debit or check card on file, verify with the card issuer that:
    1. your card is in good standing;
    2. enough credit is available to accept the charge;
    3. the card does not have a internet/phone order block; and
    4. the card has been activated, if it is new

If, after contacting your card issuer, you feel your card will still not work, mail a check or money order to eBay instead. Please be aware that due to timing, your check or money order may not post to your account before your credit card is resubmitted for payment.

Remember, check and money payments require a payment coupon. To print a coupon go to: http://www.allauto.com.au/auction/services/buyandsell/pay-coupon.html

To view your account balance and see how much money you owe, go to: http://allauto.com.au/auction/services/buyandsell/account-status.html
