Listing in 2 Categories

Does your silk shirt go into the Clothing Petite Size category, or in the Evening wear category? Should your grandmother's necklace go into Antiques or Jewelry? Debate no more, as Listing in 2 Categories is coming soon!

In several weeks, we plan on launching a new feature - List in 2 Categories. As a seller, when you list an item for sale, you can choose to list your item in an additional category for double the listing fee.

Where will I see my item?
If you list in 2 categories, you will see your item when browsing or searching within those categories. For instance, if you listed your item in Antiques and Jewelry, users would find your listing when searching/browsing within those categories.

How much does it cost?
The cost to list in this category is double the listing fee (excluding home page featured). Final value fees will not be affected. For instance, if a $5 item is listed with the gallery feature, the cost to list will be $1.00. To calculate the fee, take the total fee ($.25 for insertion fee + $.25 for gallery fee) and double this fee to get $1.00.

Who can use it?
Sellers can list in any 2 categories across the site except for the following:

  • Risque items - If you use the List in 2 Categories feature to list a Risque item in a non-Risque category, it will be moved to the appropriate risque category and no fees will be refunded. For more information on Risque categories, please review our Adult policy.
  • Adult - You can list your item within 2 subcategories within Adult.
  • Real Estate - You can list your item within 2 subcategories within Real Estate.
  • Dutch listings - List in 2 categories is not available for dutch items. If you have multiple items for sale, we recommend that you split your items and list the two lots in different categories.
As always, please make sure you list your item in the appropriate categories. If we receive any complaints, we will investigate and move the item, if necessary.

Where do I find it?
You can find List in 2 Categories in Sell Your Item and Mister Lister. Look for List in 2 Categories capability in Auction Assistant in late fall/early winter!

How does my item appear in completed listings and search?
If you list your item with the List in 2 Categories feature, you can find your item in completed search. You may not find your item in completed listings.
